mattschultz Councilman Matt Schultz, recently dubbed “The Kid From Council Bluffs” by the Iowa Republican, is making waves with his first three Eastern Iowa legislative endorsements in the Republican primary for Iowa Secretary of State. Senator Tim Kapucian (R-Benton County), Representative Renee Schulte (R-Cedar Rapids), and Representative Nick Wagner (R-Marion) have all joined the legislative team of Councilman Schultz.

“Iowa needs Matt Schultz right now. He has a strong message of fighting for fair elections by pushing to reform Same-day Voter Registration and requiring identification when Iowans go to the polls to vote,” said Representative Renee Schulte.

“Matt is a candidate that I know can win in November. He is a pro-business candidate who won’t settle for just filing business records and dealing with elections. As Secretary of State, Matt will use the office as a bully pulpit to advocate for growing Iowa jobs and business,” said Representative Nick Wagner.

“These are three great legislators who have devoted their time and energy to making Iowa a better place for our children and grand children. I am grateful to have the support of Senator Kapucian, Representative Schulte, and Representative Wagner. They are a real asset to our team,” said Schultz.

Schultz now has the endorsement of eight former and current legislators including Senator Hubert Houser, Former Speaker of the House Brent Siegrist, Representative Doug Struyk, Representative Greg Forristall, and Representative Rich Anderson.
